Cambodia’s MPWT Minister Attends Global Infrastructure Cooperation Conference in ROK

Cambodia’s Senior Minister and Minister of Public Works and Transport H.E. Sun Chanthol attended yesterday GICC 2018 (Global Infrastructure Cooperation Conference) in Seoul, the Republic of Korea (ROK).
According to news release of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT), the conference, co-organised by ROK’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the International Contractors Association of Korea (ICAK), aimed to promote infrastructure cooperation between the government, major overseas clients, multilateral development banks, construction and engineering companies, and overseas companies.
First Vice Minister of the Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport (MOLIT), H.E. Son Byung-seok emphasised the importance of infrastructure connectivity in job creation and people development opportunities as well as of advanced high technology to build a “smart city”.
The Korean side also expressed its commitment to continue to contribute to establishing an overseas infrastructure that can benefit everyone in the region and the world.
On the occasion, the Cambodian MPWT delegation actively participated in many project seminars, including the “Cambodia Urban Sewerage System” seminar.
Held annually since 2013, the Global Infrastructure Cooperation Conference was established to improve ASEAN connectivity by supporting infrastructure development in all sectors within the region.
