Cambodia-Thailand Trade Exchange Increases 22% in First Five Months

AKP Phnom Penh, July 11, 2018 —

During the first five months of this year, the two-way trade between Cambodia and Thailand rose about 22 percent to about US$2.3 billion, compared with the same period last year.

A representative of the Royal Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh attributed the increase to mutual support of their products while both countries were determined to boost their bilateral trade up to US$15 billion in 2020.

Cambodia exported mostly agricultural products to Thailand such as corn, cassava, bean and beyond, and imported machinery, electronic appliances, petroleum, construction materials, food stuff and cosmetics, etc., pointed out the same source.

In 2017, the volume of trade exchange between the two neighbouring nations reached nearly US$6 billion, a year-on-year increase of 10 percent.
